Oh, and here’s Rene … and Scott, at home in Virginia, where the Mercury Seven were first based

The Firefly Book Club had an amazing meeting for The Astronaut Wives Club! From one of their members Rochelle Fry: “We have been meeting for years and we take things very seriously! The website for book clubs was so helpful. We used recipes, questions and the playlist! Thanks! Here is a photo of us Astronaut Wives style.” (BOOK CLUBS: Check out: www.astronautwivesclub.com - you are the best!)
On the night I finished this book, I dreamed about the astronaut wives. I can’t tell you much about my dream, because it faded so quickly, but I had been planning a trip, and I think I was consulting with the wives about some of my plans. I don’t dream about many books I read (at least not that I can recall), so this should be taken, probably, as a vote of confidence in the reality and staying power of what I’d read.
How is this going to affect you and the family and children and plans in general?
» If all goes well, I’m not going to let it affect me at all. I wouldn’t, as you say, let it go to my head. I don’t think it will.
(That was Betty Grissom at her Indiana home the day the nation learned her husband would be sent to space. She was one of the pioneering astrowives who could have had their own reality show, if you think about it, decades before reality TV even existed)
